Summary

LOCATION: New York, NY

STATUS: Regular, Full-Time

SUMMARY: Involvement in all aspects of finance and accounting functions, including drafting SEC filings, preparing monthly reporting packages, documenting technical accounting positions, and and supporting management on various ad hoc projects.

Responsibilities

  • Help prepare 10-Q, 10-K and other SEC filings including financial statements, footnote disclosures and MD&A to ensure timely and accurate filings
  • Assess new SEC/GAAP pronouncements, preparing position papers and amending the reporting process and accounting policies accordingly
  • Serve as an internal technical accounting resource to support new key or non-standard transactions and initiatives
  • Support month end closings, including the preparation of complex accounting entries and reconciliations in the areas of clinical trials accruals, revenue recognition, and share-based compensation
  • Document internal controls in accordance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act
  • Manage Xtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) tagging of financial statements and footnotes
  • Assist in the research and documentation of technical accounting inquiries and related disclosure requirements
  • Provide direct support on various special projects
  • Interfacing with external auditors, as needed

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • 7+ years of related SEC reporting & technical accounting experience with a mix of public and private, biotech experience required
  • CPA license required
  • Experience preparing footnote disclosures and accounting memos
  • Ability to work well both independently as well as in a team environment
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organization skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word
  • Experience with Workiva or similar SEC reporting tool is a plus
